Description of activities: The area that you will be working on is the Market Intelligence department. This department supports the company in improving its performance. Your Role in the department will include the following tasks:

  • Looking for opportunities to develop the business and help the company to increase the revenue
  • Regular analysis of the company’s performance
  • Convert the information into knowledge in order to increase company’s competitiveness
  • Develop and maitain regulatory databases
  • Create, update and organize database of potential international customers
  • Analyse information for future acquisitions of new international customers
  • Support the EMEALA teams
  • Attend to regular meetings with sales and business managers based internationally

Duration: minimum 3 to 4 month

Working hours: 40 hours/week from Monday to Friday

• Relationship with customers: respond to customer emails and interact with clients to clarify doubts other tasks related to customer service

• Update sales channels: quota management at Booking.com, others. The student will learn the correct use of different sales channels and will participate actively in improving the content in the different sales platforms as well as controlling and updating the prices

• Introduction of reservations in the administration system

• Collaboration in the office tasks that may arise as specific projects that may include market development and back office tasks. Such as dealing with correct data and paperwork classification and organization, assisting in elaborating quality control reports from the service and form the employees. Research and come up with new sales channels to contribute with the growth of the business

EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

The European Voluntary Service is an action EVS Erasmus+ European Comission, which aims to promote the mobility exchange of young people between 17 and 30 years, offering them the opportunity to learn how different cultures live, their languages and training through informal education in a non-profit organization in another country.

VOLUNTEERING IN MONA FOUNDATION

Short information about the organisation: MONA Foundation was created with the objective for resolving the problem of chimpanzees and other primates who are illegally in Spain. Its main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-socialize those primates that barely survived their appalling conditions and have been used in circuses, advertising or kept as pets. In addition, we work to conscious future generations to know, understand, respect and above all protect our environment, to ensure their conservation. More information: www.fundaciomona.org

Description of activities:

  • Cleaning and maintaining of the facilities (e.g. constructing hammocks)
  • Learning the administration and processing of the diets of primates (chimpanzees and macaques group)
  • Cleaning bedrooms and facilities of the primates
  • Maintenance, attending trade fairs, office tasks, search for materials or food
  • Learning basic techniques of observation and recording the behaviour
  • Development of enrichment for primates: invent/create activities that can stimulate and be therapeutic to help the animals overcome fears, encourage activity and positive behavious in general, eradicating stereotypes or abnormal behaviour.

Participants will receive instructions by all experts team of Primate Keepers.

Duration: May 2018 to May 2019. Application deadline 5th January 2018.

Timetable: 4 days a week, 8 hours per day. Two days off (any day of the week) plus an additional language day to study Catalan.

Financial contribution: The European Commission subsidizes the costs of travel, accommodation, food, pockeet money, local transportation, language classes and health insurance. Participants will receive language support three hours a week through online course to learn Catalan. After, they will attend language course in person and also be provided with a language partner for conversation. Volunteers will also learn Spanish language during their stay, it will be the common language with the team and also English.

Participants will live in the MONA house in separate bedrooms with kitchen/living room and bathroom.

Requirements:

  • Be between 17 and 30 years old
  • Be a legal resident in the EU
  • Have a sending organisation
  • Not having made a prior EVS
  • You must like animals in general and primates in particular
  • Being able to speak good English and willing to learn Spanish and Catalan
  • Being motivated
  • Like to work in a team and also having autonomy
  • Be aware that working with primates can be physically hard and can become routine
  • Dealing with the meteorogical adversities while working (hot at summer, cold in winter)
  • Having no allergies and be physically and mentally fit and healthy
  • Having no problem on working on weekends and holidays.
